May be true in some situations but this is a OT.
If you think like this, I'm not even sure why you applied as a helper.

There's nothing wrong with confident persons (like you said you were) but as a confident person you dont have to be egotistic.
To be honest, I dont think you act egoistic in this situation. It's actually more like envy / Jealousy.

You can be a nice person with a good confidence. You gain a lot more than being a rude person with good confidence since you'll envy most of the time even if you may deny it.

Nothing wrong with being confident, but Piero is over-confident, and i hate pricks like that.
