what does MDC mean for buying a house?

It stands for 'Mega Donation Coins'. It's the ingame currency. Basically next to all monsters drop 'Donation Coins' and when you've collected 2000 it will auto convert into a 'Mega Donation Coin' (MDC).
It looks like a "mango". I suggest you to use '!autoloot donation' coins' to easier collect them, since you'll need them in the future. - just make sure you have room in your backpack.

Even so, the !buyhouse function is currently disabled. So even if you had the right amount, you can't purchase a house until the Staff fix it.
